Union-funded poll shows most Americans hate Wal-Mart

From the "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter" news agency, aka al-Reuters:
Some 56 percent of U.S. consumers think Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is bad for America, according to a Zogby International poll released on Thursday by one of the retailer's most vocal critics.

The national poll -- commissioned by WakeUpWalMart.com, a union-funded group that has been pressuring Wal-Mart to raise employee wages and benefits -- surveyed 1,012 randomly chosen adults on their attitudes toward the world biggest retailer.
Well, then the poll must have been fairly and objectively administered with genuine authentic results! There's just one problem:
The poll was released on the same day that Wal-Mart reported a 4.3 percent increase in November sales at its U.S. stores open at least a year -- a key retail measure known as same-store sales. Wal-Mart has about 3,700 U.S. stores and 2,400 international locations, and is expected to generate more than $300 billion in revenues in the current fiscal year.

(snip...)

Wal-Mart, which hired a team of public relations experts to help polish its image, said critics' efforts to discredit the company have had little success, judging from the more than 100 million U.S. customers who shop its stores every week.
I tell ya, nothing proves that Americans hate Wal-Mart more clearly than...uh, than nearly half of shopping-aged Americans stopping by weekly and shelling out nearly $300 billion (minus however much of that comes from international revenue) this year!

Considering I was in Wal-Mart last night and could barely move, and that I waited in line for nearly 30 minutes before checking out, you'll have to forgive me if I'm just a tad bit skeptical about the union's push-poll.

It's a good thing that Janet Reno isn't around as the A.G. anymore, otherwise she'd either (a) burn Wal-Mart to the ground, or (b) "protect" us consumers from low prices like she "protected" us from Microsoft's free Internet Explorer browser, and thus charge Wal-Mart for unfair savings to the average American!
