Promises, promises

Thanks to all of you for your kind words regarding the last post. However, the show must go on... ;-)

If this isn't reason enough to vote for the GOP in November, I don't know what is. From the Washington comPost:

Rep. Charles B. Rangel (N.Y.), who would become chairman of the Ways and Means Committee if Democrats picked up the 15 seats needed to regain the majority, said in an interview yesterday that he will quit Congress if the party does not capitalize on an unparalleled opportunity.

Then again, this may be one of those Alec Baldwin "I'm leaving the country if we lose" empty promises.
