Qana "massacre" staged...on tape!

Newsbusters has the story, and you should keep the link bookmarked, since they're going to be updating it often as the fallout unravels. From Newsbusters:
This post is "stickied," and will be updated throughout the day.)

The fauxtography scandal is blowing out of control as proof after proof rolls in how much of the self-described photojournalism coming out of Lebanon is illegitimate. If you're a blogger (or are reading some) covering the story, drop me an email at msheffield@gmail.com and I'll include a link in this roundup. And of course, you can link in the comments as well. UPDATE 7:05. Via NB reader Geepers comes this link to a German TV news show proving that the infamous Abdel Qader, aka "green helmet guy," is a stage manager for Hezbollah. The video shows him rehearsing the removal of a body from an ambulance and giving directions to the camera operator.
Video of staging here, screen cap follows:

I can't help but recall the following admonishing from AP executive editor Kathleen Carroll:
“It’s hard to imagine how someone sitting in an air-conditioned office or broadcast studio many thousands of miles from the scene can decide what occurred on the ground with any degree of accuracy,” said Kathleen Carroll, AP’s senior vice president and executive editor.

Carroll said in addition to personally speaking with photo editors, “I also know from 30 years of experience in this business that you can’t get competitive journalists to participate in the kind of (staging) experience that is being described.”
Yeah..."hard to imagine", huh? Then again, we're just a bunch of rubes in air-conditioned offices who aren't Photoshopping news fauxtos and staging events (actively or passively), so what the hell do we know?
