Clinton adviser: N.O. flood is Bush's fault

Sidney Blumenthal, the man who ran major interference for the former Felon-in-Chief, offered up this "deep" insight in a German rag:
In 2001, FEMA warned that a hurricane striking New Orleans was one of the three most likely disasters in the U.S. But the Bush administration cut New Orleans flood control funding by 44 percent to pay for the Iraq war.
A couple of items of note here:

  • In 2001, we were not at war with Iraq. Therefore, Bush did not cut funding by 44% to pay for a war that had yet to happen. If Sid meant that Bush subsequently has cut funding, he might want to get "Hooked on Phonics" or something.

  • How long has New Orleans been below sea level? Since...the beginning? Does Sid and his sycophants in the MSM believe that it was incumbent upon Bush to fortify New Orleans, when Sid was part of an administration that did jack squat for eight years? You know, during the "fat and happy" (no offense, Sen. Kennedy) years of the 1990's, when we had all these alleged "surpluses"? None of that "extra money" could have been used to fortify New Orleans...until the Bush years?

  • Read the article. Sid's conversation spirals out of control, going from "lack of funding" to "rape of the wetlands" to "global warming"...thus discrediting himself.

  • Leave it to the blogosphere to ask the questions that no one else will.
