Snow in Malibu? Plus, Weather Channel "expert" wants to decertify skeptical meteorologists!

It has been a while since I had one, but here is today's "Damn that global 'warming'!" update, via KNBC:
Snow fell on the palm trees of West Los Angeles and Malibu Wednesday afternoon as Jack Frost visited the Southland again.

NBC4 forecaster Fritz Coleman said the mixture of precipitation in West Los Angeles at about 3 p.m. included a dusting of snow. Residents in West Los Angeles said the snow accumulated in parking lots, on cars and around palm trees near Wilshire and Santa Monica boulevards and other areas.

Most of the snow fell south of Sunset Boulevard and just east of the 405 Freeway. Residents told NBC4 that several inches of snow fell in their yards.

The last snowfall recorded at Los Angeles International Airport was in January 1962, according to the National Weather Service. Trace amounts -- less than 0.5 inches -- were reported, according to the NWS.
Presumably, the snow in LA is the dastardly deed of George W. Bush and his Rovian global "warming" machine...except that to the global "warming" Chicken Littles, we're supposed to call it "climate change" when it's cold. Otherwise, they look stupid trying to convince us that snow and temps colder than Hillary's heart is somehow proof of global "warming", correct?

In related news, the movement by said Chicken Littles to stifle scientific debate over the global "warming" discussion took a weird turn. From the Senate's Environment and Public Works Committee:
The Weather Channel’s most prominent climatologist is advocating that broadcast meteorologists be stripped of their scientific certification if they express skepticism about predictions of manmade catastrophic global warming. This latest call to silence skeptics follows a year (2006) in which skeptics were compared to "Holocaust Deniers" and Nuremberg-style war crimes trials were advocated by several climate alarmists.

The Weather Channel’s (TWC) Heidi Cullen, who hosts the weekly global warming program "The Climate Code," is advocating that the American Meteorological Society (AMS) revoke their "Seal of Approval" for any television weatherman who expresses skepticism that human activity is creating a climate catastrophe.
There's more, so read it if time permits. I understand why Cullen would want to silence skeptics through intimidation: It's hard to argue that there is "consensus" within the scientific community when those pesky dissenting scientists open their pieholes and start throwing out facts and data!

Maybe Cullen would like to see the UN, who attributed global "warming" more to cow farts than human activity, shut down as well? Wait...shutting down the UN would be an excellent idea, albeit for different reasons! But I digress.
