Bill Clinton admits he's a liberal
Isn't it funny that in 1992, Bill Clinton ran for president as a "centrist" Democrat? The press dutifully parroted his "centrist" policies and tendencies, though those of us with half a brain or more could see through his charade. The man was a dyed-in-the-wool liberal.
I personally know and befriend a number of liberals. These folks that are my friends are good people...just misguided as hell. Few of them think Clinton was or is a centrist, and they chuckle at the assertion that he is. They think it's kind of funny that their icon was able to hoodwink America twice with his phony centrist label. "Hey, whatever it takes to win!" Whatever, indeed.
Well, in case anyone (a) thinks Clinton (and Shrillary, too) is a centrist, or (b) wants to shut up anyone who thinks the Clintons are centrists, listen to der Schlickmeister himself here:
“Iran is the only country in the world that has now had six elections since the first election of President Khatami (in 1997). (It is) the only one with elections, including the United States, including Israel, including you name it, where the liberals, or the progressives, have won two-thirds to 70 percent of the vote in six elections: Two for president; two for the Parliament, the Majlis; two for the mayoralties. In every single election, the guys I identify with got two-thirds to 70 percent of the vote. There is no other country in the world I can say that about, certainly not my own.”Emphasis mine. See? Clinton identifies himself as a "liberal" and "progressive" (which is today's buzzword for liberal, since the tag "liberal" seems to be an albatross at the ballot box). He identifies like-minded people the same way. He acknowledges that liberals don't win in America. He brags that they win at least somewhere!I sure hope that while Shrillary is trying to pose as a centrist for 2008, the GOP nominee uses this quote to expose her for the leftist that she is.
