MoveOn.org trying to convince folks it ain't liberal

Those deep-thinking nuanced intellectuals at MoveOn.org created this t-shirt. Isn't it darling?

According to Drudge:
Over the weekend, the liberal activist group MOVEON.ORG hosted over house parties across the nation to stop President Bush from nominating a “radical right judge” -- and the DRUDGE REPORT obtained an exclusive invite to one of their hottest parties!

Charles Fazio of Alexandria, VA was the host of one of the most widely attended MOVEON parties in the Washington, DC area. The DRUDGE REPORT has learned because of Fazio’s registration success, his party was chosen to be a finalist on the WASHINGTON POST’s list of house party events the paper would cover. (Nope...no media bias. - ed.)

In a desperate bid to sanitize his gathering and control how its attendees would be perceived by the POST, the MOVEON host emailed talking points to his guests. A copy of those talking points was obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT.

Fazio warned his guests: “Its very important that if you talk to the reporter, you stay on message. Remember, it is quite possible that our event will be the one the POST uses to represent the entire MoveOnPac effort this weekend.”

The key message for the event: “The momentum is finally shifting away from extremism. We will not accept a extremist nominee. This is not about conservatism vs liberalism or Republicans vs Democrats, this is all about extremism vs moderation and we're on the side of moderation.”

The MOVEON host reminded his guests: “We don't want to come across as leftist, liberal activists. We want to come across as we are- regular folks who are finally saying enough is enough to the extremists; that we're not falling for their extremist rhetoric anymore and we're finally going to expend the effort necessary to get our country back.”

Fazio: “Please stay on message and just know that ANYTHING you say can be taken out of context and used against the effort.”

One last suggestion from Fazio to his liberal MOVEON party-goers: “Oh, because a photographer will be here, might I suggest we put away our ‘Bush is a Liar’ t-shirts. Let's look like they do.”
Emphasis mine. I'll let you pick yourself up off the floor and quit laughing before continuing..........OK, I'll continue.

Fazio said "We don't want to come across as leftist, liberal activists." Now why on Earth would he possibly think that anybody could see MoveOn as a bunch of leftist liberal activists? I mean, aside from "Bush is Hitler" ads, "Liar Liar" t-shirts like those above, commercials that ridicule the war effort and thus the troops, what would give anyone the idea that they were even the slightest bit left of center, hmmmmmmm?

Also, he says "We want to come across as we are- regular folks who are finally saying enough is enough to the extremists." Yes, those MoveOn folks are just a bunch of regular Joe and Jane Schmoes. Granted, a cursory look at the Wash. Post link above will show that as these "regular folks" ate sushi by the swimming pool in the media magnate's mansion backyard, they lamented the "fascist government" here and despised "the people destroying our country." I'm assuming they're not talking about al Qaeda, but the duly elected politicians of a certain party who run the show. Yeah, nothing like a heartwarming story from middle America about the average little guy to get your eyes all misty.

Finally, I assume by "look like they do", he means normal-looking people. You know, people who don't wear hemp shirts or tinfoil hats.

Look, at least I credit Fazio for understanding something that liberals outside of politics have been unable to grasp: America hates liberals. Period. We don't like a bunch of pampered-ass idealists or unemployable losers telling us what's wrong with our country when it is by far the greatest country on the face of the planet. Immigrants come here en masse every year because of our greatness. We don't listen much to a bunch of whiny anti-American drivel about the perceived injustices in America, that "America is a terrorist nation", and how it's all our fault that Islamofascists and Euroweenies hate us. Fazio knows what Democrat politicians know, and that is that in order to advance the liberal cause, Dems have to pretend to be anything other than liberal. Hey, not my words...just read Fazio's words again. He proves a point I've been pounding on for years.

I just think it's damned funny that now the leftist blueprint of deceit is out there for all the world to see. Don't expect the MSM to pick this up, though.
