MSM bypasses fact-checking for agenda-based reporting

Or as Jason at "Generation Why?" puts it, "Mainstream Media Has Given Up on the Nuisance Known as Fact-Checking." Observe:
Here are two article that appeared in the media on September 3, 2005:
Reuters: Wade Batiste, 48, recounted another tale of horror. "Last night at 8 p.m. they shot a kid of just 16. He was just crossing the street. They ran him over, the New Orleans police did, and then they got out of the car and shot him in the head," Batiste said.

San Diego Union-Tribune: Wade Batiste, 29, who has been sleeping on cots in the Astrodome with his wife and five children, spent yesterday afternoon filling out an application at a McDonald's down the street.
Do these guys just have a bucket of names they draw from to source their material?
So which is? Is "Wade Batiste" a 48-year-old man who was in New Orleans to witness these purported atrocities, or is he a 29-year-old man who was in Houston filling out a McDonalds application? Or is it possible that there are two separate Wade Batistes who BOTH just so happened to be interviewed by the MSM? Sure, it's possible...and it's possible that Bill Clinton never inhaled, either!

What else would you expect from Reuters, the "we can't call terrorists 'terrorists' -- one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter" network? Looks like CBS News needs to look over its shoulder if it hopes to hang onto the "Shoddiest Journalistic Practices" Award! By the way, didn't Jayson Blair get fired from the Old Gray Hag for doing the same thing: making up sources?

Nope...no liberal media bias.
