Freudian slip at CNN?
Hat tip to Newsbusters:
On "The Situation Room" this evening, CNN White House correspondent Suzanne Malveaux spoke to Paula Zahn about the firestorm surrounding John Kerry's comments suggesting Armed Forces personnel are uneducated:Nope...no liberal media bias!
"And, of course, Paula, what is really telling here is that Kerry, for most of the day, was alone in his explanations, and trying to figure all of this out -- Democrats quietly saying that they really wish Kerry had kept quiet on this one.
"But, late in the day, Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer released a statement, criticizing President Bush's criticism of Kerry. And, then, Paula, late in the day as well, we got yet another press release from Kerry, criticizing, reacting to Bush's criticism of him earlier in the day, calling it smear.
"So, we hope and we think that all of this is going to go away tomorrow. But we will just have to wait and see."
CNN hopes and thinks that "all of this is going to go away tomorrow?" Presumably so the cable news network can get back to the really important stories, ones like how badly the GOP will do in next week's elections. Or how terribly things are going in Iraq. Or how unpopular President Bush is.
Yes, by all means, let's hope and think the Kerry fuss is going to go away tomorrow so CNN can provide the news it wants us to hear. They know what's best.
"Oh, we almost forgot...Mark Foley!"
