San Franistan catfight

Fffft-ffffft-row-row! From Breitbart:
Cindy Sheehan, the soldier's mother who galvanized the anti-war movement, said Sunday that she plans to seek House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's congressional seat unless she introduces articles of impeachment against President Bush in the next two weeks.

Sheehan said she will run against the San Francisco Democrat in 2008 as an independent if Pelosi does not seek by July 23 to impeach Bush. That's when Sheehan and her supporters are to arrive in Washington, D.C., after a 13-day caravan and walking tour starting next week from the group's war protest site near Bush's Crawford ranch.

"Democrats and Americans feel betrayed by the Democratic leadership," Sheehan told The Associated Press. "We hired them to bring an end to the war. I'm not too far from San Francisco, so it wouldn't be too big of a move for me. I would give her a run for her money."

Congrats, San Franistan. Your choices are "moonbat" and "moonbattier"!

Elizabeth Edwards supports same-sex marriage

From San Fran-istan:
Elizabeth Edwards, starring at the kickoff event of San Francisco's signature Gay Pride Parade, came out in support of legalized gay marriage today -- taking a position which she acknowledged is at odds with her husband, presidential candidate John Edwards.

"I don't know why somebody else's marriage has anything to do with me," she said. "I'm completely comfortable with gay marriage."

Of course she's "completely comfortable" with same-sex marriage...she's in one right now! I mean, "not that there's anything wrong with that"...

Moonbats want Blue Angels out of...

...where else...San Franistan. From the Examiner:
The annual aerial show by the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels — a San Francisco tradition dating back to 1981 that pumps millions into the local economy — is running into opposition from three local peace advocacy groups that are calling for a permanent halt to the popular Fleet Week flyover.

CodePink, Global Exchange and Veterans for Peace, Chapter 69, are working with Supervisor Chris Daly on a Board of Supervisors resolution to address concerns over the Blue Angels.

The Code Pinkos have a willing ear on San Franistan's Board of Supervisors? Color me with the "unsurprised" crayon. This part's pretty funny, though:
CodePink has launched an online petition, signed by more than 500 people to date, calling on leaders to end the flyovers for reasons of public safety, air pollution and fuel waste.

The Code Pinkos have a whopping 500 siggies in a city the size (and political makeup) of San Franistan! I smell a mandate (insert "Barney Frank weekend plans" joke here).

Oh, well, this is just an aberration, right? It's not like San Franistan has a history of irrational and reflexive hatred for the armed forces that protects their moonbattery-laced enclave on the Left Coast. Oh, wait a minute. Yeah, they do have such a history. My bad.

In case you have yet to do so, feel free to go ahead and question their patriotism. While you're at it, go ahead and question their gray matter, too.

Those "peace-loving" San Fran-istan liberals

Where else but San Franistan?
It was supposed to be a birthday night out for the kids in San Francisco, but instead turned into a Critical Mass horror show -- complete with a pummeled car, a smashed rear window and little children screaming in terror.

The spontaneous Critical Mass bike rides, in which thousands of free-spirited cyclists roam the city, have been a fixture on the last Friday night of the month since the early 1990s. But even bike-weary cops, who have seen their share of traffic disturbances and minor skirmishes, weren't prepared for what happened during the latest exercise of pedal power.

Here's the story:

Susan Ferrando, her husband, their two children and three preteens had come to San Francisco from Redwood City to celebrate the birthday of Ferrando's 11-year-old daughter. They went to Japantown, where they enjoyed shopping and taking in the blooming cherry blossoms.

Things took a turn for the worse at about 9 p.m., when the family was leaving Japantown -- just as the party of about 3,000 bikers was winding down its monthly red-lights-be-damned ride through the city.

Suddenly, Ferrando said, her car was surrounded by hundreds of cyclists.
...
Confusion, however, quickly turned to terror, she said, when the swarming cyclists began wildly circling around and then running into the sides of her Toyota van.

Filled with panic, Ferrando said, she started inching forward until coming to a stop at Post and Gough streets, where she was surrounded by bikers on all sides.

A biker in front blocked her as another biker began pounding on the windshield. Another was pounding on her window. Another pounded the other side.

"It seemed like they were using their bikes as weapons,'' Ferrando said. One of the bikers then threw his bike -- shattering the rear window and terrifying the young girls inside.

All the while, Ferrando was screaming, "There are children in this car! There are children in this car!"

She had the presence of mind to dial 911 on her cell phone -- and within minutes, the squad of motorcycle cops who were assigned to keep an eye on the ride descended on the scene.

The cyclists were loudly demanding that Ferrando be arrested for hit and run.

According to police, Ferrando had allegedly tapped one of the cyclists' tires.

When the alleged bicycle victim was approached, however, he said he wasn't hurt. He also refused to give his name or any other information.

Then, after a few swear words, the alleged victim took off on his bike while the rest of the crowd continued to yell at both the cops and the van.

Sgt. Ed Callejas -- the lead cop on the scene and a veteran of Critical Mass rides since their inception -- said he'd never seen anything like it before.
...
Estimated damage to the car: $5,300.

Families. Minivans. The military. The American flag. Is there any part of normal America that San Franistan doesn't revile?

San Fran-istan leading the pack again

Must.resist.urge.to.make.pun.on."pack" and San Franistan! From LGF:
As always, the San Francisco anti-war rallies beat the rest of the nation in the Sheer Lunacy department. Zombie was there, and yes ... so were the Angry Furries, with their personal electronic devices and tambourines. US flag desecration, anti-Israel hatred, 9/11 conspiracy kooks, it’s all here.

Seriously, you have GOT to go here and look at the pictures and their captions. I don't so much care for the pictures, but Zombie does a hilarious job at highlighting the idiocy of the moonbats at the rally. Here's but a mere single example, with Zombie's caption underneath:

Which pleople?

I'm telling you, GO SEE IT...it's hilarious how these people actually expect to be taken seriously!

Hillary thinks they all look alike!

Her Highness, remembered for her Gandhi "botched" joke, has now insulted an Asian-American media organization in San Fran-istan.
Clinton staff's gaffe with local ethnic papers
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign excluded reporters for the Bay Area's two largest ethnic newspapers from a fundraiser Friday at the Sheraton Palace Hotel -- a perceived snub that led to days of harsh coverage...

...Reporters from Sing Tao and Chinese-language daily World Journal, as well as the smaller China Press were denied entry to the noon fundraiser.

It turned out that the three papers had not been included in the mailing list for a press advisory sent out two days ahead that instructed media representatives to check in by 11:45 a.m. World Journal reporter Portia Li said she arrived about 10 minutes before noon.

Li, a prominent journalist who has worked for more than two decades in the Bay Area, said she knew such events routinely begin late and that reporters often are allowed in after they start.

But a staffer told her she was too late to get in. When Li argued, the staffer explained that because she was considered "foreign media" -- which were limited to a single pool reporter -- she could not go in.

Any local media who checked in by the cutoff were admitted.

When Li showed her business card, the staffer asked for two forms of identification, which seemed to Li to be insulting. She said she had never had to show identification at similar events.

"She kept saying this is only open for local media, not foreign press," Li said. "I told her, I'm not foreign press. I'm local media. I was really angry. It's not about myself. It's about how the mainstream looks at Chinese (people) as a whole. Why do they call us foreigners, even [though] we have a local address on our business card?"
Ah, yes...the party of "diversity"! And you were told that the right was racially insensitive?

Flag-burning controversy, San Franistan style

From the moonbat capital of America, San Franistan, via NRO:
You, of course, have a fundamental, constitutional, First Amendment, free-expression right to desecrate the American flag. But, evidently, not the flags of Hamas and Hezhollah. Not at least if you are at San Francisco State University and you are a College Republican.

The flags of these jihadists, you see, incorporate the word "Allah" in Arabic. By walking on them during a demonstration, Debra Saunders reports in San Francisco Chronicle (hat tip, James Taranto's Best of the Web), the College Republicans are accused by a campus body of creating a hostile environment and potentially inciting violence.

Ah yes, those "San Francisco values." Does anyone know when the First Hundred Hours will end?
In short, college campuses have no problems with students burning the American flag. After all, it's free speech, right? Oddly enough, burning a terrorist organization's flag is not similarly considered free speech, and if the perp is a diabolical Republican, then that damn sure will not be tolerated!

USA = bad, jihadis = good. Thanks for the clarification, San Franistan.

SF mayor has affair

What two grown men do behind closed doors is...what? It was with a woman? Well, hell, how presumptuous of me! It was San Fran, so I just figured...I mean, uh, "not that there's anything wrong with that"! You know, this is a new era and...aw, never mind.

Oh, yeah...the news story:
Mayor Gavin Newsom apologized Thursday for having a sexual relationship with his former campaign manager’s wife.

“I’m deeply sorry,” Newsom said during a brief news conference at City Hall the day after the aide resigned. Newsom appeared poised but visibly emotional. He spoke for about a minute and left without taking questions.

Alex Tourk, 39, resigned Wednesday after confronting his boss about his relationship with his wife, Ruby Rippey-Tourk, 34, who once worked as the mayor’s appointment secretary.

Newsom acknowledged that he had the affair first reported Wednesday night on the San Francisco Chronicle’s Web site and apologized for what he called “a lapse of judgment.”

“I want to make it clear that everything you’ve read is true and I’m deeply sorry about that,” he said. “I hurt someone I care deeply about, Alex Tourk and his family and friends, and that is something I’m deeply sad about and sorry for.”
Now that he's fessed up to some unwholesome intercourse, I'm predicting that his approval ratings will soar in San Franinstan. Hey, give the guy his due for not wagging his finger and denying "having sexual relations with that woman" or redefining "sex"!
